Kevin Swanson

Kevin joined GDI in 2003 following his retirement from professional hockey. Kevin played four years of Major Junior hockey in the WHL with stops in Prince George and Kelowna. As a Kelowna Rocket, was twice named a WHL All-Star. While playing for the Rockets in 1999 Kevin was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the 7th round, 189th overall of the NHL Entry Draft. He played two years in the Canucks farm system.

He has expertise in the instruction of numerous goalkeepers at the NHL, Minor Pro, Major Junior and NCAA levels of play. Also, Kevin is the Goaltender Consultant for the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL.

Justin Cardinal

Justin has been the Goaltending Consultant for the Kootenay Ice of the WHL for the past four seasons, winning the 2011 WHL Championship and representing the WHL at the Memorial Cup.

Justin joined forces with GDI following 7 years of consulting youth goaltenders in the Southern Alberta area. He generated and maintained a clientele in the area, and was doing over 200 private sessions each month alone. He has guided the development of goaltenders from Novice through to the Pro ranks.

Nic Degaetano

Head On-Ice Instructor

Nic has been with GDI for the past 3 years conducting 1-0n-1 lessons as well as running the GDI Academy last year. Nic is also the Goaltender Consultant for the Brooks Bandits of the AJHL.

Brent Williams

Head On-Ice Instructor

Brent is a former WHL goaltender for the Calgary Hitmen before moving on to play goal for the Sait Trojans in the ACAC. He has been instructing goaltenders for the past 7 years and has been conducting 1-on-1 lessons at the GDI Training Center in Calgary for the past 2 years.

Todd Ford

Head On-Ice Instructor

Todd has been involved with GDI for over 10 years as a student and as an instructor. Recently Todd retired from Professional hockey where he spent the last 8 seasons after a 4 year WHL career. He has played Pro in AHL, ECHL and in Germany and was under contract by the Toronto Maple Leafs and Washington Capitals during that time.

Todd is able to pass along that experience to his students and is a very well-liked coach. His experience as a goalie and coach make him a valuable asset to GDI.

Dallin Colbert

Head On-Ice Instructor

Dallin was a long-time student of GDI and one of the most technically sound goaltenders. He has worked GDI Summer Programming for 4 years as well as working 1-on-1 lessons at our Training Center during the off season. Dallin has an excellent demeanour and has a great rapport with his students. He gets the most out of his students and pushes them hard while keeping a fun environment to train in.

Kris Paradis

Head On-Ice Instructor

Kris has been with GDI for the past 3 years and was the GDI Lethbridge Area Manager prior to moving back to Calgary. He now conducts 1-on-1 lessons at our facility and is also a part of the GDI Academy Staff.
