INTRO

The emphasis of the INTRO progression is to build a strong technical foundation securing each of the three primary fundamental skill groups. These skill groups include: position-specific movement, basic positioning and a goalie’s initial save assets. Strength in these critical areas will ensure expedited growth due to the strength of the fundamental base.

Each on-ice session will have a strong focus on a goalie’s movement game. This emphasis is due to the importance of this fundamental skill group. Strong movement leads to greater positional efficiency, which, in turn, leads to more controlled and consistent save response. This progressive, downstream effect is the primary objective of this program. A further impact of this fundamental focus is the increase in confidence that the younger/beginner-level goaltender receives from growth in these areas. While movement is the focus, the goalie will build strong basic positioning and the ability to execute key save moves.

The INTRO curriculum is offered as a summer camp as well as an in-center, 24-week winter curriculum.

SUMMER CAMP DAILY ITINERARY:

TIME: Approximately 8am-1pm

  • 1.5 hours on ice
  • Classroom Session
  • Daily Journals to document all drills and key points
  • Comprehensive Evaluation Report
  • Activity/Game/Fitness Session
